Gargardenia can’t take it anymore! Adults keep whispering in her ears: “My little plant, little flower, little rose!”—pet names usually followed by scoldings, insults, or other unkind remarks. Gradually, she begins to feel just like the potted plants that are scattered everywhere. How do they manage that? They grow—and sometimes even bloom—even without proper nourishment!
Today, she dares to step out into that outdoors which, until now, meant nothing but dirt, mud, and wet feet. And there… nature, nature: pure boredom. Yet out in the open, she makes some truly astonishing discoveries. But don’t just take our word for it—see for yourself!
A poetic tale about growing up and the big questions of life.

Andreas Denk is dancer, choreographer, décor designer, founder and artistic director of
dans company plan d-. He makes humorous and infectious dance productions for the
whole family. Sustainable and socially committed. He is a master in integrating daily
attributes into dance phrases and hilarious scenes. His creativity and fantasy keeps
surprising his public again and again.
Andreas Denk: “I don’t put attributes on the edge but right in the middle of the
performance. They form obstacles which confront me in my movements and
choreographies.”
Andreas Denk received his Bachelor of Dance degree in dance at the Lola-Rogge-Schule
in Hamburg, Germany and continued his training at the Rotterdam Dance Academy in
Rotterdam, the Netherlands where he received his second degree in dance. From 1996
to 2008 he was one of four artistic directors of the Hans Hof Ensemble.
Plan d- is a small, strong yet flexible and quickwitted organization, who also
collaborates internationally with various theatres and production houses in Europe. Denk
has worked together in collaboration with the Schauburg in Munich, the Staatstheater
Mainz, Braunschweig Germany and the Szene Bunte Wähne in Vienna Austria. His work

choreography in the film Höhenluft (Mountain Air), and the Best of Festival during the
Dance on Camera Festival, New York for his dance film R.I.P. (Rest In Peace.)
Quote: Andreas Denk, (...) can make something out of nothing. Attributes and props are
his motor, they pump his movements and moving phrases. Things of everyday life are
enough for his complete choreography. And so the friends look more like do-it—yourself
men than dancers. (Review of a performance of Friends in the Winter in de Volkskrant)
